More Voices: A Collection of Works from Asian Adoptees

Interested in reading varying adult adoptee perspectives on the adoption experience? Check out the recently published, More Voices: A Collection of Works from Asian Adoptees, Edited by Susan Soonkeum Cox*
or the book that inspired More Voices, Voices From Another Place: A Collection of Works from A Generation Born in Korea and Adopted to Other Countries, Edited by Susan Soon-Keum Cox.

Do you have a book about adoption that spoke to you, moved you or caused you to think about your own experiences? If so, please leave a comment with the title and what you liked about it so others can check it out.

*KT King contributed to More Voices (That is her artwork on the cover) and appologizes for shamelessly plugging this extraordinary collection of essays, poems and artwork ;-)

Interview With Kourtni Rader

Kourtni Rader, Adult Adoptee Outreach Director at Holt International, is leading the 2011 Holt/Bethany Korea Adult Adopt Tour this month. Kourtni will be blogging about her experiences during the tour at Holt / Bethany Korea Adult Adoptee Tour 2011. I asked Kourtni a few questions about her role as Outreach Director and the Holt/Bethany Korea Adult Adoptee Tour.

AACT: Please introduce yourself and tell us about your role as Adult Adoptee Outreach Director.

KR: Thanks Kim for the opportunity to share the Adult Adoptee Tour and a bit about myself and work at Holt with your audience. I was adopted from Star of the Sea Orphanage in Incheon, South Korea as a toddler. I grew up in Michigan and one of 12 children. My parents adopted 11 children, international and domestic.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Adult Adoptee Connecticut.

It is my hope that AACT will become a thriving community for international adoptees. Although, AACT is a Connecticut based group, all international adoptees regardless of where you are from are welcome to join the conversation.

This blog will provide adoptee related topics, information, and resources. The success of this blog will be in its members and their willingness to partake in the discussion and to shape the direction that AACT moves in. If you have a suggestion, comment or just want to say hello click below to leave a comment. You can also send an email to adultadopteect(at)gmail(dot)com.
